You live in New Zealand, why do you photograph junk????

Filed under: port waikato, ramblings — at 8:47 am

Here’s your answer: because I want to. Yes, as you can imagine, this is the formost question I get all the time from email and the such.

Yes there countless beautiful landscapes here. Indeed, there are also countless numbers of incredible New Zealand nature photographers. If you want New Zealand photographers who do pure landscape photography - there are plently of photographers who are much better than I - you have no trouble finding them on Google.

This site is reflection of how I see the world. Sometimes its beautiful and pristine. Sometimes its messy. And sometimes its a combination of the two.

What colours shall we use today?

im so happy to see your new pics, really, and this one i think i like the most.
it looks like someone has painted the world and left the empty bottle of a paint at the beach.
i hope you’ll be painting your own world more often, monsieur! -:)

  2. Well done.Your pictures are beautiful and shows us this is reality. The truth unfortunately gets covered up by these glossy images for tourism. At the end of the day its is money. Where your photos not only shows the beauty but sends a message.Lucky we do have people out there that do care about our beautiful country.Kai Pai.

  3. Hey there,
I think you really SHOULD keep shooting debris and pollution. Your photos are truly great and I hope they get recognized someday, including all the rubbish.
When I was in NZ last January I came across a lot of filth on shores and in creeks.
I collected everything I came across and ended up with two full plastic bags everyday!
    Such a shame.
More info : pick up the latest edition of New Zealand Geographic. There’s an article of shore pollution in it.
    Good job!
    Keep ‘em coming.
